What Our Guests Have Said

Wonderful house with fantastic views
My family (adult children) stayed for four days in January. The house is immaculate, airy, comfortable with multiple outdoor sitting areas - which is great because the views are great. The lovely pool was an added plus after our hikes in the rain forest that essentially borders the property. The Santiago family (the owners) were attentive and gracious - when the satellite wifi went out they got a technician out to fix it very quickly. Great property and location.

We stayed at Estancia El Yunque at the end of December through New Years Day. The Santiago Family could not have been better hosts. Lillian and her family literally bailed out our vacation after a rental car mishap. They called around until they found us one and then further helped us out by returning it for us since the agency wasn't open on New Year's Day when we headed home. The house was cleaner than my own, not a spec of dust or dirt anywhere. And oh my, is it fabulously equipped with pans, dishes, and anything you need to cook. Oh, have I mentioned the notebook that they leave for clients chock full of places to go, things to do, etc. And the property itself is beautiful; well worth the sometimes harrowing drive to it. We would go back in a heartbeat!

This stay was a romantic getaway
This was our second stay here, and we definitely intend to return as soon as
possible. This stay was a romantic getaway, and the first time was a family
vacation, and we believe the Estancia is a great place for either. The estate is
large and beautiful and we had a wonderful time exploring it. It is located
within the tropical rainforest allowing for many short walk or drive hiking
adventures. You are 20 minutes from some nice beaches for diving or snorkeling,
and only a little longer to get to the capital of San Juan and the astounding
fortresses located there. We went to the Rio Camuy cavern which was also beyond
adequate description, as well as the Arecibo radio telescope, all in a single
day trip from the house. The family owners are extremely helpful and thoughtful
hosts who go to such great lengths to ensure a great stay, this place is well
worth the effort.

Idyllic tropical rainforest getaway
Highly recommended for those who want peace in a picturesque tropical
rainforest. The nights had the pleasant sounds of the Coquí tree frog to soothe
you to sleep. Our family of four stayed and were very comfortable. The weather
in august was surprisingly pleasant due to the elevation and breezes. There were
many windows which allowed the sounds and scents of the flowers into the house.
Outside was multiple types of ginger species which kept a pleasant scent
throughout the yard. The landscape was manicured and diverse. There were four
waterfalls very close to the home, two in one direction and two in the other
direction from the main roads. Also a very beautiful stream/waterfall located on
the property, found on rustic trails. The home was prepared for everything we
needed. What I found as a surprise was that there were very few Mosquitos. I
thought being in a rainforest would mean lots of mosquitoes but I found that I
did not see hardly any of them (probably due to the adorable little Coquí tree
The caretakers were extremely hospitable and showed us how to get to
the creek from the house. We felt very safe and secure in the home. If your a
dog lover you will feel right at home as this estate has two very sweet resident
dogs. Internet worked great with no interruptions and there was air conditioning
if needed in all bedrooms. Thank you Lillian and Carmen for sharing your
mountain getaway.

Great rain forest house near El Yunque!
Lovely house, tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and comfortable,
fantastic views, great gardens and landscaping, very private and secure. Lillian
and Carmen are super friendly, helpful and accommodating. It is a little hard to
find but that is to be expected on these mountain roads. We truly enjoyed our
stay. Wished we could have stayed longer. Tip: There is a beautiful trail down
to the river from the house, not advertised.
